Publication Ethics
KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering (KTJME) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and research integrity. Authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher are expected to follow the ethical principles and publication standards described below. KTJME takes allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously and follows appropriate procedures to investigate and address such concerns.
1. Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy
KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering (KTJME) recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies may be used as tools in scholarly research and manuscript preparation. However, authors, reviewers, and editors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical conduct of their work.
2. Authors:
Authors submitting manuscripts to KTJME must ensure that their work is original and has not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
Authors are responsible for:
- ensuring that the manuscript represents original work;
- accurately reporting research methods, results, and findings;
- providing appropriate citations and acknowledging the work of other researchers;
- avoiding plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and inappropriate manipulation of data, images, or research results;
- ensuring that all individuals listed as authors have made substantial contributions to the work and have approved the final manuscript;
- appropriately acknowledging individuals who contributed to the work but do not qualify for authorship;
- disclosing relevant financial, professional, or personal conflicts of interest;
- acknowledging sources of funding and other forms of research support;
- obtaining appropriate permissions for copyrighted material reproduced in the manuscript; and
- notifying the Editor or Publisher promptly if a significant error is identified in a submitted or published article.
3. Reviewers:
Reviewers play an important role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of KTJME. Reviewers are expected to:
- evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and within their area of expertise;
- provide constructive and evidence-based comments that may help improve the manuscript;
- maintain strict confidentiality regarding manuscripts and all information obtained during the review process;
- not use unpublished information, data, ideas, or interpretations obtained through peer review for personal or professional advantage;
- disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest before accepting a review assignment;
- decline a review assignment when they have a conflict of interest or lack the appropriate expertise;
- inform the Editor if they identify possible plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other ethical concerns; and
- complete reviews within the agreed time or inform the Editor if additional time is required.
Reviewers should not share manuscripts or their contents with others without permission from the Editor.
4. Editors:
Editors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are evaluated fairly, consistently, and in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies. Editors shall:
- make editorial decisions based on the academic quality, originality, methodological soundness, relevance, and contribution of the manuscript;
- maintain editorial independence and impartiality;
- select appropriate reviewers with relevant subject expertise;
- maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and peer-review information;
- appropriately manage conflicts of interest involving authors, reviewers, and editors;
- investigate credible allegations of research or publication misconduct;
- provide authors with a fair opportunity to respond to substantive concerns;
- issue corrections, retractions, or other appropriate post-publication notices when necessary;
- ensure that ethical concerns are addressed in a timely and documented manner; and
- avoid discrimination based on an author’s gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, personal characteristics, or other irrelevant considerations. Editors should not reverse editorial decisions without a substantive reason and should maintain the integrity of the journal’s published academic record.
5. Editorial Independence Statement
KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering (KTJME) maintains editorial independence in all decisions relating to the evaluation, peer review, acceptance, revision, and publication of manuscripts. Editorial decisions are based solely on the academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, relevance, and scholarly contribution of submitted manuscripts. Editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial interests, advertising, sponsorship, publication fees, institutional affiliations, personal relationships, or any other non-academic considerations. The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board are responsible for maintaining the integrity and independence of the journal’s editorial processes. The publisher provides the necessary administrative and technical support for journal operations but does not interfere with editorial decisions or the peer-review process.
6. Publisher:
To assure the publication of original, high-caliber scientific research that the public can trust, Key Tech Services has established a set of ethical guidelines. To uphold publication ethics, the KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering is still subject to restrictions, including copyright, infringement, and plagiarism, which are set forth by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). The KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering is in charge of maintaining the confidentiality of all correspondence and will never reveal information that would be detrimental to the interests of the journal’s editors, authors, or referees. To prevent and deter publication malpractices of any sort, all parties involved in the publication of the KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering, including authors, reviewers, and editors, are expected to closely adhere to the publication ethics outlined below.
7. Antiplagiarism:
The similarity index is checked with the help of Turnitin plagiarism software after receiving the manuscript at the KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering office. The articles with a similarity index below 20%, excluding references, will be considered for the review process. All the authors are informed to submit the original work contribution for possible publication. If plagiarism is detected during the peer review process, the manuscript is rejected. If plagiarism is detected after publication, an investigation is made, and an appropriate action is initiated.
8. Peer Review:
The manuscript submitted to KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering is reviewed by two independent reviewers in the related field. The review process is a single blind process. The final decision about the manuscript for acceptance, review with minor/major change, or rejection is taken by the editor-in-chief, considering the reviewers’ comments.
9. Open access:
All the manuscripts published by KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering can be fully read, downloaded, and printed by anyone interested without permission from the editor or authors. Thus, all the papers will be available freely from all current and previous volumes.

11. Duplicate submission:
Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal is not permitted. Where simultaneous submission or duplicate publication is identified, KTJME may reject the manuscript and may take other appropriate action based on the circumstances of the case
12. Conflicts of interest:
Undisclosed conflicts of interest identified after publication may require an appropriate correction or other editorial action
13. Citation manipulation:
Sanctions may be imposed on the author or authors whose submitted publications are discovered to contain citations solely to boost the number of citations to their work or articles published in a certain journal. For the sole purpose of increasing citations to their own or an associate’s work, the journal, or another journal with which they are affiliated, editors and reviewers are not permitted to request references from authors. “Original wording taken directly from publications by other researchers should appear in quotation marks with the appropriate citations.
14. Withdrawal of an article:
A submitted article may be withdrawn following the deep assessment and analysis of the situation, on a case-by-case basis. The withdrawal will solely depend on the Editor’s discretion. The decision of the Editor regarding the withdrawal of a paper will be final. Retraction of an article: Infringements of professional ethical codes, such as multiple submissions, same claims of authorship, plagiarism, fraudulent use of data, and similar
claims, will lead to the retraction of an article.
15. Appeal:
If authors believe that the rejection was due to a significant misinterpretation of a technical feature of the article or a failure to comprehend the scientific development demonstrated in the paper, they may file an appeal. Without adequate explanation, an appeal seeking a second opinion will not be considered. The journal’s administration can be contacted via email with the reference number of the manuscript to file an appeal. The only person who can appeal is the corresponding author who submitted the work.
16. Disclaimer:
All the authors of KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering are solely held responsible for the content of the published manuscript. The journal editors of KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering, the publisher Key Tech Services, or any official staff involved in the publication process, will not be held responsible for the accuracy of the results and applicability of the research.
17. Blacklisting:
The penalties could be applied to all of KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering’s publications if we learn violations of publication ethical guidelines.
If a published paper or submitted manuscript is discovered to contain fraudulent or falsified results, including data falsification and picture manipulation, the authors may be banned for a minimum of two years. These writers will not be accepted as editors or reviewers for any of our journa

The corresponding author is responsible for coordinating communication with the journal and confirming that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
19. Responsibilities of Reviewers:
Reviewers play an important role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of KTJME. Reviewers are expected to:
- evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and within their area of expertise;
- provide constructive and evidence-based comments that may help improve the manuscript;

22. Responsibilities of Publisher:
Key Tech Services, as the publisher of KTJME, supports the journal in maintaining ethical publishing practices and the integrity of the scholarly record.
The Publisher is responsible for supporting the journal’s editorial processes, maintaining the confidentiality of editorial communications, protecting the integrity of published content, and providing appropriate technical and administrative support for the journal’s publication activities.
The Publisher respects the editorial independence of the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team. Commercial interests, advertising, publication fees, or other business considerations shall not determine editorial decisions.
23. Plagiarism and Similarity:
KTJME is committed to maintaining academic integrity and does not accept plagiarism, substantial unattributed copying, or other forms of inappropriate reuse of published material.
Submitted manuscripts may be screened using appropriate similarity-detection tools. Similarity reports are used as an aid to editorial assessment and are not, by themselves, evidence of plagiarism. Editors may consider the nature, extent, location, and source of identified similarities when determining whether further action is required.
Where plagiarism or significant unattributed overlap is identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected or referred for further investigation.
If plagiarism or substantial inappropriate overlap is identified after publication, KTJME may investigate the matter and take appropriate corrective action, which may include publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the circumstances.24.
24. Peer Review:
KTJME uses a single-blind peer-review process. Submitted manuscripts are evaluated by independent reviewers with appropriate subject expertise.
The Editor-in-Chief or designated editor makes the final editorial decision after considering the reviewers’ reports and the overall quality, originality, relevance, and methodological soundness of the manuscript.
Possible editorial decisions include:
- acceptance;
- minor revision;
- major revision; or
- rejection.
Reviewers provide recommendations and comments, but the final editorial decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or designated editor.
The journal may seek additional reviews when necessary, including where reviewers provide substantially different assessments or where specialized expertise is required.
25. Open access:
All the manuscripts published by KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering can be fully read, downloaded, and printed by anyone interested without permission from the editor or authors. Thus, all the papers will be available freely from all current and previous volumes.
26. Open-Access and Licensing Policy
Based on the idea that making research publicly available promotes a wider worldwide exchange of information, Key Tech Services offers instant open access to its material. If the original publication is properly credited or cited, anyone is free to reuse the published content.
By paying a relatively small Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted articles, the authors’ institutes or research funding organizations support the open-access publication.
The APC payment is expected to be made by the authors at the amount of USD 30 for authors located other than India and INR 1000 per accepted article for authors who are from India. Reusing all or a portion of an article published by Key Tech Services does not require special permission.
Every open-access article is available for free reading, downloading, copying, and sharing. All articles published in the KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering are open access and freely available online immediately upon publication. This journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, including commercial use, provided the original author and source are properly cited.
Advantages of Open Access for Authors
The publication’s unrestricted online accessibility ensures the high availability and visibility of our open-access papers. Readers of open-access journals are not required to pay any subscription fees or pay-per-view fees to access and download the full text of any paper published by Key Tech Services. Additionally, search engines and indexing databases are more likely to contain open-access journals. Because of their widespread availability and high level of attention, open-access articles have a higher citation impact.
27. Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy
KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering (KTJME) is committed to maintaining long-term access to its published scholarly content.
The journal maintains secure digital backups of published articles, journal issues, and associated publication metadata. The publisher regularly maintains and backs up the journal’s digital content to reduce the risk of loss arising from technical failure or other unforeseen circumstances.
Published articles are assigned persistent Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through Crossref, providing persistent identification and reliable citation linking.
KTJME is committed to strengthening its long-term digital preservation arrangements and will continue to evaluate and adopt appropriate recognized preservation services and repository-based archiving mechanisms as the journal develops.
In the event of a disruption to the primary journal website, reasonable efforts will be made to restore access to the journal’s published scholarly content and associated metadata.
28. Copyright Policy:
A. License and copyright agreement
The authors attest to this when they submit the work to the journal:
1. Their co-authors have permitted them to make these agreements.
2. The described work has never been published before (apart from as an abstract or as a component of a published lecture, review, or thesis); it is not being considered for publication anywhere else; and all authors and responsible authorities, either explicitly or implicitly, of the institutes where the work was conducted have approved its publication.
3. They guarantee the reproduction of any content that has previously been published or protected by copyright elsewhere.

C. Waiver and Discount Policy:
KT Journal of Mechanical Engineering is committed to supporting researchers worldwide and promoting equitable access to publication. Full or partial APC waivers may be granted to authors from low-income countries or in special cases based on editorial decision. Waiver requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission. The decision on waivers is independent of the peer review process.
D. Transparency:
The journal ensures complete transparency in APC policies. No hidden charges are applicable.
E. Payment Process:
Payment details will be shared with the corresponding author only after final acceptance. The receipt will be provided along with the acknowledgement
